Pulsiv

Pulsiv has developed and patented innovative technology to intelligently manage power wherever it’s converted.

The company has made significant commercial progress over the past two years. It has built a global distribution network, is attracting interest from major companies from across several sectors and launched its first commercial product, the world’s most efficient 65W USB-C reference design. USB-C is the emerging standard for chargers. Future product launches will see the company introduce a 240W USB-C reference design, technology which will be able to charge any consumer device.

The company has also attracted heavyweight management. Chief Executive Darrel Kingham held a series of senior roles at Arm, while Chief Product Officer Dr Tim Moore left his full time job as Chief Technology Officer of Nasdaq-listed consumer goods giant Shark Ninja to join the company full time. The Chairman Dr Mark Gerhard is a serial entrepreneur and technology pioneer who has grown and exited businesses in the video games, AI and cyber security sectors.

The USB C chargers are part of wide variety of applications being developed under the Pulsiv OSMIUM brand. These products use a unique AC to DC control technique to improve efficiency, optimise cost and reduce overall energy consumption across a broad range of applications. Global net-zero targets, growing demand for more efficient appliances and tightening regulation are driving the need for new and improved ways of converting electricity supplied by the grid.

In a rapidly growing renewable industry, the new Pulsiv HORIZON power architecture aims to maximise energy extraction from photovoltaic panels and increase the total output from any solar installation. World-leading results, flexible system configuration options and a disruptive business model make Pulsiv HORIZON an interesting proposition for any company that uses free solar energy for battery storage, EV charging, direct consumption or export to the grid.

Pulsiv remains dedicated to supporting a global transition towards renewable energy and reducing the long-term environmental impact of every electrical device.

There are now 52 patents granted worldwide and 31 pending in the United States, Europe, China, Taiwan and Japan.

The Company continues to commercialise the work of Dr Zaki Ahmed, a former Associate Professor in Information Technology at the School of Computing, Electronics and Mathematics at Plymouth University.
