Frontier IP portfolio company Des Solutio is to bring together leading scientists and industry partners to learn about and discuss the latest developments in Deep Eutectic Systems (DES).
The 4th International Meeting on Deep Eutectic Systems is the world’s largest event devoted to DES. DES are where a mixture has a lower melting point than its constituent parts, and which has the potential to be much greener than conventional chemical processes. Des Solutio is using DES to create new greener solvents to replace the toxic solvents used widely in industries such as cosmetics and household products.
Potential uses of DES include:
- Enhancing pharmaceutical ingredient solubility and bioavailability
- Improving the solubility of natural ingredients
- Use as extraction solvents or co-solvents
- Use in chemical reactions and bioanalysed reactions
